Welcome, this blog is my attempt to help every resident of the Cascades to stay informed and involved in making the Cascades the absolute best residential real estate address in Texas, with the happiest residents. This has nothing to do with the Homeowner's Association and isn't in any way a competition for it. Here are my goals and reasons for starting this blog:
1. News sometimes gets around slowly and it is easy to hear rumors and half truths. For instance, the recent annexation proposal for Lake Bellwood by the city of Tyler and a proposed change in zoning is something we should all know about, right?
2. There will always be someone we need to check on or pray for or just be mindful of, and it would be helpful to know if someone is in the hospital, or has had a new grandchild or anything like that.
3. When there are issues with the cable company, or the telephone company or the trash pickup people, wouldn't it be useful to know how others have handled similar concerns?
In any case, I wanted to get a forum together where we could all visit and express our hopes, dreams and concerns about our new neighborhood. Hopefully, it will be something useful to everyone.
I am expressly not wanting to make this a "gripe" blog, because we have no standing with anyone, so it might not go anywhere.

Rick,
This is a great way for us homeowners to communicate with each other. Thanks for creating the blog.
Tomorrow at 1:30 pm the P&Z is having a work session to discuss the re-zoning of the Bellwood park. It is open to the public. I invite everyone to attend this informal meeting.
Thanks, Allen.
Most of the members also need to know that Barbara Holley will be at the Cascades clubhouse Wednesday afternoon at 6 pm to discuss this with the homeowners.
Hi - It's Suzanne Snavely. I love the idea of the community blog. I hate to start off dumb, but I don't know anything about this annex. Could someone explain briefly what it is and how we might be affected by it? Thanks!!
What is the conventional wisdom on whether this thing across the lake is good or bad? What are the pros/cons?
I wished we had this type of discussion/head's up on the apartment complex down the street. Those folks are speeding up and down my street all day and night.
Suzanne, the area north of the lake, where the Bellwood North development is proposed, was part of a large tract sold by a Tyler oilman, Lanier Ritchey, last year. The area of between 40-100 feet adjacent to the lake still belongs to the city, and perhaps that is one thing the annexation is addressing. Wednesday night, we should find out what is going on! Steve said that the bar would be open for business, so, might combine business with pleasure!
Jeff, I have noticed some of that traffic myself. I think that a good bit of it is workers coming to work on the condo's and clubhouse.
Why don't you put up a SpeedBump sign and paint part of the road white and see if that slows em down?
does anybody know the name of a good chiropractor in tyler?
Hey everybody, this is Patty, and wanted you to know that "I'm baaaaaaaaaaack" My Sodium is the best it has been since first out of hospital. It is 134 out of 137 being normal. We are still going to Mayo on the 25th for a diagnosis, but it looks more and more like Adrenal Insufficiency from some kind of source. Meanwhile, I feel great and Rog is getting frustrating because he say that I talk too much. He calls me a motor mouth. So, be prepared when you see me, I will talk your ear off. This is really the REAL me. So look out world. Hope to see you all at the pre Father's Day Dinner at the club on Sat.
